Monarch is a company that specializes in elevator controllers and gearless drive technology. They offer integrated solutions that combine an elevator controller with the drive in a single package. Their product portfolio includes a range of open and closed loop integrated elevator controllers, elevator and escalator drives, as well as customer-facing electronic control components such as buttons, COPs/LOPs, inspection boxes, mechanical door headers, and cabling solutions.

Their VFD for elevators is an open loop integrated solution for elevators with a maximum speed of 1.00 m/sec, supporting up to 6 floors with a full collective and an expansion option up to 12 floors with flexible and programmable I/O's. The inverter features an integrated brake and motor output contactors control with monitoring, quick and easy setup with factory default settings, 6-independent S-ramps for better leveling accuracy, and supports open loop asynchronous geared machine for smooth ride performance.

For elevators, Monarch uses serial technology with redundancy control via multi-CPUs equipped with CANbus, Modbus, and GSM communications technology. They use displacement calculation methods to achieve optimum direct-to-point distance control and have simple 2-wire serial communications to commission duplex group control.

Their group control of up to 8 elevators is based on fuzzy logic control theory and they have an in-built real-time clock to facilitate time-sharing control and elevator management. They offer flexible emergency backup power and automatic identification operation between short-floors. Additionally, they have handheld operation tools such as a mini keypad and PC for easy commissioning and 60 fault codes to facilitate easy diagnostics.
