A digital potentiometer is an electronic unit that replaces normal carbon potentiometers for the frequency control of electronic speed control devices. The unit has both manual and automatic mode options and can generate a control voltage/current or PWM signal as input for inverters. They hold the output values in their memories during power cuts and can continue to operate either directly or in a ramped manner depending on the selection.

However, these devices can be used as a signal source. They cannot read the signals of existing external devices. They have user-friendly structures as the display values can be calibrated to different dimensions (rpm, kg, bar, mt, tm). In addition, in some models, digital input has been added to allow external button connections.

Electronic potentiometers are not adjustable power sources. They produce weak current/voltage and can only be used as control signal generators. Standard functions that electronic potentiometers have include the control of frequency inverters, adjustment of start and stop times, calibration of analog values with the display, adjustment of the output signal, offset adjustment, manual/automatic mode, and analog and digital outputs.

Digital potentiometers work like traditional potentiometers. However, instead of variable resistance, they provide variable voltage (e.g. -10 to +10 VDC), current (e.g. 4-20 mA), or pulse width modulation (PWM) signals. Voltage and current ranges are programmable. PWM output provides a 500 Hz signal with a programmable duty cycle. Analog outputs are galvanically isolated.

Digital potentiometers allow you to control your inverter digitally. With these types of devices that you can place on the panel cover, you can not only control the speed of your machine but also make the device an indicator in the desired value (rev, kg, etc.) with the calibration of the device. You can also control the start and stop ramps of your driver (speed control device).

Please note that these devices adjust and display the speed of the inverter digitally, but they are not independent speed display devices.

Our digital potentiometers cannot be used as an "adjustable power source." However, they can be used as a 0-10V and 4-20mA source in test devices or similar signal generators requiring such sources.
