What is a digital potentiometer?

   It is a digitally controlled electronic unit that replaces normal carbon potentiometers for frequency control of electronic speed controllers. The unit has both manual and automatic mode options and serves to generate a control voltage/current or PWM signal as input for inverters. They keep the output values ​​in their memory during power cuts and can continue to operate directly or with a ramp, depending on the selection.

   However, these devices can be used as signal sources. They cannot read the signals of existing external devices. Since the display values ​​can be calibrated to different measures (rpm, kg, bar, mt, tm), they have a user-friendly structure. In addition, in some models, it is possible to connect an external button by adding a digital input.

   Electronic potentiometers are definitely not adjustable power supplies. They generate weak current/voltage and can only be used as a control signal generator.

Control of frequency inverters, setting start and stop time, calibrating analog values ​​with the display, Adjusting the output signal, Offset adjustment, Manual / automatic mode, Analogue and digital output.

   Electronic potentiometers work like conventional potentiometers; however, instead of a variable resistor, it provides a variable voltage (eg -10 to +10 VDC), current (eg 4-20 mA), or a pulse width modulated signal (PWM). The voltage and current range are programmable. The PWM output provides a 500 Hz signal with a programmable duty cycle. The analog outputs are galvanically isolated.
   You can also control your inverter digitally. With such devices that you can place on the panel cover, you can both control the speed of your machine and display the desired value (revolution, kg, etc.) with the caliber setting of the device. You can also control the start and stop ramps of your drive (speed controller).

Attention; These devices digitally adjust and display the speed of the inverter. They are not standalone speedometer devices.

These devices cannot be used as "adjusted power supply". However, 0-10v and 4-20mA can be used as a source in test devices or similar signal generators.

If you want to see the speed, frequency, current current of your motor, etc. of your driver, look at the digital indicators.
