Energy Measurement Instruments

Energy measurement and monitoring instruments

Energy measurement and monitoring instruments display current, voltage, power and consumption in electrical panels. The range covers analog and digital ammeters, voltmeters, frequency and power factor indicators, and multifunction meters. For current or voltage monitoring, choose the appropriate indicator; for consumption in kWh, select an energy meter or an analyzer with that function.

Choosing a measuring instrument

Check AC/DC compatibility, measuring range, single-phase or three-phase wiring and accuracy specifications. Establish whether the current input accepts a direct connection or a current transformer (CT). With CT-operated models, the transformer secondary, such as 1 A or 5 A, must match the input, and the display scaling must correspond to the CT ratio.

Compare panel cutout, mounting method, auxiliary supply and environmental requirements. For remote monitoring, check the supported protocol and available measurements as well as the RS-485 interface. Alarm or control outputs depend on the model; confirm the required functions in its technical documentation.
