The MD310 AC Drive is a type of open loop, general purpose, and compact drive with various features and functions designed for easy set-up and reliable operation. It supports open-loop V/F and sensorless vector control, which can provide starting torque of 150% at 0.5 Hz in SVC mode and 100% at 1.0 Hz in V/F mode.

The drive has Modbus or CANlink communications options and can provide automatic torque boost, slip compensation, and variable DC-injection braking. It has simplified parameters for easy set-up, 4 independent S-Ramps, flexible programmable I/Os, and comprehensive trip diagnostics. The drive also has a built-in dynamic braking unit and can output frequencies up to 500 Hz.

The MD310 AC Drive has a wide operating voltage range with three-phase models that can operate at 323 to 480 Vac with a power range of 0.4 kW to 18.5 kW. It also supports onboard Modbus RTU and can control multiple motors simultaneously in V/F mode. One drive can control two motors with different parameter sets at different times in SVC mode, and it has a textile wobble control feature.

The MD310 AC Drive can operate in high ambient temperatures up to 50°C, but it requires derating if operating above 40°C. It also supports Inovance's proprietary serial communications offering, CANlink, and requires a PC comms kit, which is an optional accessory.

The maximum frequency for vector control is 0 to 300 Hz, while for V/F control it is 0 to 500 Hz. The carrier frequency ranges from 0.5 to 16 kHz and adjusts automatically based on load characteristics. The input frequency resolution is 0.01 Hz for digital setting and max. frequency x 0.025% for analog setting.

The AC Drive can operate in two control modes: sensorless vector control (SVC) and voltage/frequency (V/F) control. The startup torque is 0.5 Hz/150% for SVC and 1.0 Hz/100% for V/F. The speed range is 1:100 for SVC and 1:50 for V/F, and the speed stability accuracy is ±0.5% for SVC and 1% for V/F. The AC Drive has overload capacity of 60 minutes for 120% of the rated current, 60 seconds for 150% of the rated current, and 2 seconds for 180% of the rated current.

Other features of the AC Drive include torque boost with fixed or customized boost, various V/F curves including straight-line, multi-point, and N-power V/F curves, V/F separation with complete or half separation, ramp mode with straight-line or S-curve ramp, and DC injection braking with frequency, active time, and current level adjustments. The AC Drive also supports jog running with frequency and acceleration/deceleration time settings and onboard multiple preset speeds with up to 16 speeds using simple PLC function or digital input signals.
