Shihlin SC3 user manual

Hi everyone,

Shihlin SC3 VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) is a motor speed control device that is used to control the speed of motors on production lines. This device is designed specifically for small and medium-sized production facilities. Its compact size, dynamic speed control, high power factor, energy savings, and reliable performance provide significant advantages to improve efficiency in facilities.

The SC3 VFD is equipped with many features such as a built-in RFI filter, surge voltage protection, overload protection, and low electromagnetic noise advantage at low frequencies. In addition, the device's dual parameter system, compatibility with previous Shihlin series, and ease of commissioning and DIN rail mounting make it easier for users to operate the device.

The SC3 VFD comes with standard Modbus support and sink/source selectable support, making it more flexible for use in various applications.

Shihlin SC3 is a motor speed control device that has a compact structure and offers the experience of future motor speed control systems with its new generation motor control algorithm.

The SC3 has several features, including:

- Starting torque of %180 at 3Hz and %200 at 5Hz
- Built-in RFI filter
- Surge voltage protection
- Low electromagnetic noise advantage at low frequencies
- Overload protection of %150 for 60 seconds and %200 for 1 second
- Dual-parameter system fully compatible with previous Shihlin series
- Easy commissioning and DIN rail mounting
- Side-by-side panel installation option
- Standard Modbus support
- Sink/source selectable support
- Output frequency of 650Hz

The SC3 VFD offers much wider freedom to control with a digital input (SINK/SOURCE) option for flexible adaptation. The multifunctional control terminal of the SC3 series inverter can select the (-) or (+) input approach. Input activation is possible through an NPN or PNP sensor as well.

Regardless of the type of multifunctional control terminal, if the entire external cable arrangement is in the "open" position with a simple switch dip, the control signal is placed inside the terminal. If the switch is in the "closed" position, the control signal can be stopped.

If the "Sink Input" mode is selected, the terminal function is either a short circuit with SD or an external PLC control. In this mode, when the current is "on," it flows out of the relevant terminal. The "SD" terminal is common for contact input signals. When using an external power source for the output transistor, the PC terminal should also be taken into consideration.
