FAQ For Solar

Hello, friends of solar energy,
The term "solar" is derived from the Latin word "sol", which means "sun". Therefore, the term "solar" is typically used to refer to something related to the sun.
For example, "solar energy" refers to energy from the sun; "solar system" refers to our sun and the planets, asteroids, and other celestial bodies that orbit around it; and "solar panel" refers to a device that converts solar energy into electricity.
the history of solar electricity or photovoltaic energy can be traced back to the 19th century. Here's a brief overview:
1839: Photovoltaic Effect Discovery: French physicist Alexandre Edmond Becquerel discovered the photovoltaic effect, which explains how electricity can be generated from sunlight. He found that certain materials would produce small amounts of electric current when exposed to light.
1876: The Birth of Photovoltaics: William Grylls Adams and Richard Evans Day discovered that selenium produced electricity when exposed to light. Although selenium cells were not efficient, it was proved that light, without heat or moving parts, could be converted into electricity.
1954: Silicon Photovoltaic Cell: Bell Labs introduced the first photovoltaic cell that was capable of converting enough of the sun's energy into power to run everyday electrical equipment. Gerald Pearson, Daryl Chapin, and Calvin Fuller achieved this by using silicon in the cell.
1970s: The Energy Crisis and Further Development: The global energy crisis brought a significant focus on developing solar technology. The efficiency of solar cells jumped from around 14% to close to 20% during this period.
2000s-Today: Rapid Commercialization: As manufacturing processes have improved and scale has increased, the cost of photovoltaic electricity has continued to decrease, leading to a rapid increase in solar installations. By 2020, photovoltaics provided over 3% of global electricity demand, and numerous projects around the world are working to increase this figure.
Today, solar power continues to be a rapidly advancing field with constant research and development to increase efficiency, decrease costs, and find novel applications for solar power.
