ACS 600 Manuals

The ABB ACS600 drive series is designed for a wide range of applications, including factory conveyors and other industrial constant torque applications. These drives excel in applications that require running for long periods at constant speeds different from the motor's nominal speed. They are also ideal for vibration endurance test benches that need variable speeds of vibrating motors, testing of rotating machines, and all applications requiring traditional external controls.
Main Application Areas and Features:
Factory Conveyors and Industrial Constant Torque Applications: The ACS600 is perfect for industrial applications that necessitate long-duration operations at constant speeds.
Vibration Endurance Test Benches: These drives are suitable for applications requiring variable motor speeds, such as vibration endurance testing.
Testing of Rotating Machines: The ACS600 enables testing of rotating machinery at various speeds.
Traditional External Controls: The ACS600 is compatible with traditional external control systems.
Feature Summary:
Hand/Auto Processes: This feature is for processes requiring motor speed control to be automatically managed with a PLC or other process automation, and manually with an external control panel. Active control location selection is made with a digital input.
PID Control: Designed for use with different closed-loop control systems such as pressure control, level control, and flow control. Examples include booster pumps for municipal water supply systems, automatic level control of water reservoirs, booster pumps for district heating systems, and speed control of various types of material handling systems where material flow needs to be regulated.
Torque Control: For processes requiring torque control, e.g., mixers and slave drives. Torque reference comes from a PLC or some other process automation system or control panel. Manual reference is the speed reference.
Sequential Control: For processes that require motor speed control in addition to adjustable speed with 1 to 15 constant speeds and/or with two different acceleration/deceleration times. The control can be done automatically with a PLC or some other process automation system or by using normal speed selection switches.
The ACS600 series offers a robust and flexible solution for applications demanding high flexibility and performance. These drives help users achieve precise control and efficiency across a broad range of applications.
