ACS 350 Manuals

My dear colleague, let me give you a warm introduction to ABB's ACS350 general machinery drives. These drives are a game-changer for those of us in machine manufacturing, especially when it comes to serial production where every second per unit counts. They're engineered to be the speed demons of installation, parameter setting, and commissioning. The base models are a breeze to use but don't let that simplicity fool you; they pack a smart punch. These drives offer a rich array of functionalities to meet the most challenging demands.

They're designed to satisfy the needs of a broad spectrum of machinery applications. Think food and beverage, material handling, textiles, printing, rubber and plastics, woodworking - you name it. Key features include a uniform height and depth for all models, side-by-side mounting capabilities, an inbuilt C3 EMC filter, an inbuilt brake chopper, effortless programming, sequence programming, and the FlashDrop tool for quick parameter settings.

Voltage and power ranges are versatile, covering single-phase 200 to 240 V ± 10% from 0.37 to 2.2 kW (0.5 to 3 hp), three-phase 200 to 240 V ±10% from 0.37 to 11 kW (0.5 to 15 hp), and three-phase 380 to 480 V ±10% from 0.37 to 22 kW (0.5 to 30 hp).

Options galore with user interfaces from basic to assistant control panels, potentiometers, the FlashDrop tool, various fieldbuses including PROFIBUS DP, CANopen, DeviceNet, Modbus, Ethernet, an encoder interface, NEMA 1 kit, input/output chokes, C2 EMC filters, and DriveWindow Light 2 software.

The FlashDrop tool is a standout, offering a patented, faster, and hassle-free setup and commissioning for volume manufacturing and maintenance. It allows for both downloading and uploading drive parameters without needing to power up the drive.

Sequence programming brings application-specific 8-state programming with comprehensive transition and triggering conditions, reducing the need for an external PLC. The software delivers stellar performance with incredible flexibility, including application macros, timed functions, and a fault history for quick and intuitive commissioning.

User interfaces come with a panel cover as standard for protection. The assistant control panel boasts clear alphanumerical dynamic menus, a real-time clock, and 14 languages. The basic panel features a numerical display.

Fieldbus options include enclosed plug-in fieldbus adapters for high-speed communication in a compact and robust design. Cabinet compatibility is a breeze with screw, DIN-rail, sideways, and side-by-side mounting, optimizing installation layout and efficient cabinet space usage.

Inbuilt EMC filter and brake chopper eliminate the need for extra space, parts, time, or cost. Drive protection ensures motor output and I/O are safeguarded against wiring faults and unstable supply networks, with coated boards included as standard for the highest quality and trouble-free use.

Designed for fast installation, parameter setting, and commissioning, these drives are based on ABB's general machinery drives, sharing the same software features and hardware connections. The wall-mounted drive can be installed close to the process and operator, offering a seamless and user-friendly experience.

In short, these drives are crafted for easy installation, swift parameter setting, and quick commissioning, excelling in the toughest conditions with IP66 and IP67 protection classes. Their compact size and various mounting options ensure space savings in new installations and retrofits, making them a reliable choice for any challenging environment, especially where hygiene is crucial.
