Fe-Const - J Types Thermocouple

Hi everyone,

Welcome to our page about J-type thermocouples, Fe-const vs T/C.

For those who are not familiar with the topic, let us first provide a brief description below:

A thermocouple (Fe-conts vs T/C) is a sensor used to measure temperature (heat). This sensor consists of two different metal wires connected at one end and connected to a thermocouple thermometer or other thermocouple-equipped device at the other end. When properly configured, thermocouples can provide temperature measurements over a wide temperature range.

The wires are welded together at one end to form a connection. This connection point is where the temperature is measured. When there is a change in temperature at the connection point of the two metals, a voltage is generated. The voltage can then be interpreted using thermocouple reference tables to calculate the temperature. (Note: that linear value changes cannot be mentioned here, as thermocouple data is evaluated according to a separate verification map. This means that thermocouple sensors cannot be directly connected to a speed control device, for example. A thermocouple converter device is required for such a motor control application.)

Thermocouples are known for their versatility as temperature sensors, so they are widely used in industrial applications, utility programs, and regular devices. Understanding the ranges to determine the basic structure, how they work, and what type and material of thermocouple are right for your application is crucial due to the wide range of models and technical specifications.

When it comes to thermocouples, it is essential to mention Thomas Seebeck (1770-1831). In 1821, in his theorem called the Seebeck Effect, he discovered the continuous current flow in the thermoelectric circuit when two different metal wires were joined at two ends and one of the ends was heated.

Any two different metals or metal alloys exhibit thermoelectric effects, but only a few are used as thermocouples - for example, antimony and bismuth, copper and iron, or copper and constantan (a copper-nickel alloy). Rhodium or platinum-rhodium alloyed platinum is typically used in high-temperature thermocouples. Thermocouple types are named after the metals used to make the wires (for example, type E [nickel, chromium, and constantan], type J [iron and constantan], type N [two nickel-silicon alloys, one of which contains chromium and magnesium], or type B [a platinum-rhodium alloy]). The most common type is type K (nickel-aluminum and nickel-chromium wires) due to its wide temperature range (approximately -200 to 1,260 °C [-300 to 2,300 °F]) and low cost.

Types of Thermocouples (T/C):
Below we have tried to describe well-known thermocouple models. However, many mounting and casing styles are available for each type of sensor. One of the most important points to consider here is which mounting area of your machine is compatible.

+ Here are the features of all the types of thermocouples

Dear visitor, the thermocouple models you see below are devices that have been produced solely for professional purposes and have been used in temperature control systems for many years due to their high reliability. Just looking at the installation type and detection range will provide you with sufficient ease of use. They consist of three different sections.
