"The Bayonet type J thermocouple is a sensor (Fe-Const) commonly used for high temperature measurement.
This type of thermocouple contains a pair of conductors for temperature
measurement, and is particularly ideal for industrial and laboratory
applications. Its features include long life, durability, accuracy, and
fast response time.
With a steel-braided cable length of 2 meter with cable and a diameter of 8 mm, the Bayonet type J thermocouple is recommended for maximum temperature measurement of 400°C. However, if you need a temperature control sensor for higher temperatures, you should look at K type Nicr-Ni models.
Bayonet type J thermocouples come with various cable lengths (1/2/3/4/5 meters), thicknesses, and materials. With a length of 2 meter with cable and a diameter of 8 mm, the Bayonet type J thermocouple is ideal for many industrial applications. These sensors are designed to be used in high temperature and high pressure
environments and are resistant to environmental conditions. On the
other hand, if you consider the mounting area, you can evaluate your mushroom-headed type thermocouple models."
Usage Areas:
Bayonet
type J thermocouples are used in many industrial applications that
require high temperature measurement. Some examples include metal
processing machines, ovens, industrial dryers, petrochemical industry,
etc.
Installation and Use:
Bayonet type J thermocouples are designed for temperature measurement
and must be properly mounted. Installation should be done according to
the user manual and make sure it is properly connected. Pay attention to
the operating temperature range of the sensors and do not use them in
extreme temperatures.
Another
important point is the resolution issue depending on the quality and
sensitivity of thermocouple reader devices. While heat control devices
working with old technologies read in standard degrees, new generation temperature control devices can now read thermocouple sensors more accurately with decimals.
Steel braided temperature sensors are not the right choice for machines that are in continuous motion. If you are going to make an application for this type of machine, you should use silicone cable temperature sensors.
The temperature range of Bayonet type J thermocouples may vary depending on the material used and the model's specifications. However, generally, these types of thermocouples are designed to comply with thermocouple standards and can measure temperatures around 1000°C, suitable for high-temperature ranges. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the maximum temperature range specified in the technical specifications of the model to be used.

Editor's note: There are several models of thermocouples with a 8 mm diameter available in the market to fulfill the need for this size. One commonly used model is a standard 2-wire plug-and-play sensor, which has a fast response time. It is also preferred for its durability in harsh environmental conditions. This is my personal opinion, and I believe it is a good choice for temperature measurement applications.
