The LX1N, part of the LX Family of PLCs, is a powerful microcontroller that offers the flexibility of a modular PLC design. It is easy to use and provides powerful built-in positioning tools, such as 2-axis positioning systems that can be connected to servo amplifiers or stepper motor drives. The LX1N features a compact design and is known for its powerful features, such as two 100 kHz pulse outputs and two 60 kHz high-speed counters.

The LX1S, on the other hand, is a more compact microcontroller designed for simpler applications. It is supported by strong communication capabilities and is easy to use and program. Although not as powerful and flexible as the LX1N, it is ideal for applications that require a small and compact PLC.

The LX1N is also compatible with HCFA LADDER software, allowing for easy integration into existing control systems.

HCFA PLCs, particularly the LX1S, offer a range of features for remote control and simple programming. The LX1S is equipped with a variety of BD expansion cards that provide RS232, RS485, and RS422 communication options, and can be used to control various third-party products such as barcode readers or panel printers.

The LX Family of PLCs has a simple programming structure. Basic instructions are common across all LX Family PLCs. Applied instructions provide expert control options such as data comparisons, PID, and communication control, all of which are available in the LX1S. As the capacity of each LX PLC series increases, so does the number of available Applied instructions.

Technical specifications of the LX1S include a 10-34 I/O range, 2k step (standard) program memory, and a 0.55 μs/logic instruction basic instruction processing speed. Additionally, it has a capacity for up to 2 points of analog signal processing, 12-bit analog resolution, and 2 analog input BD models.
