Yaskawa P7

About P7 VFD:

The Yaskawa P7 drive is designed for industrial applications such as centrifugal fans and pumps. It offers a variety of features to make it easy to use, including a factory-programmed design and an intuitive LCD operator display with multiple languages. The P7 drive also includes a variety of input/output options, network communication options, and an easy-to-use programming interface. Additionally, the drive has a rugged and reliable design with a high MTBF, and a variety of enclosure options for environmental protection. The P7 drive also offers energy savings options, motor auto-tuning, and configurable options such as circuit breakers and fuses. It also supports open architecture and open connectivity with network communications choices such as DeviceNet and Profibus-DP.

The P7 also offers an optional phase-shifting input transformer for 12-pulse rectification mode which reduces input current harmonic distortion factor by over 90%. Other features of P7 include a Bypass package, motor preheat function, adjustable accel/decel, controlled speed range, torque-limiting, and more.

The P7 drive also offers a variety of performance features, such as ratings of 5-150 HP, 208 VAC, 5-150 HP, 230/240 VAC, 5-500 HP, 480 VAC, and 5-250 HP, Bypass. It also has an overload capacity of 110% for 60 seconds (150% peak) and a starting torque of 100% at 3 Hz. It has DC injection braking at start or stop, which is adjustable and current-limited (anti-windmilling). It also has a motor preheat function and adjustable accel/decel of 0.1 to 6000 seconds. The controlled speed range is 40:1 and it has critical frequency rejection with 3 selectable, adjustable bands. It also has torque-limiting of 30 to 180%, energy saving control, torque boost, and power loss ride-thru of 2 seconds.

The P7 drive also has a variety of protective features, such as current-limited stall prevention, heat sink over-temperature, speed fold-back, bi-directional start into rotating motor, current-limiting DC bus fuse, optically-isolated controls, short circuit protection, ground fault protection, electronic motor overload, and more.

The P7 drive is also designed to operate under harsh service conditions, such as ambient temperatures of -10°C to 40°C (NEMA 1), 45°C protected chassis, humidity of 95% RH, non-condensing, altitude of 3300 ft (higher with derate), and input voltage and frequency fluctuations. It is also designed to be phase sequence insensitive and 3-phase, 3-wire. The drive also has a variety of design features such as LCD keypad, parameter copying, and DriveWizard software for PC (free) for upload/download, trending and graphing.
