Method of Resetting Trip Causes

If your inverter trips due to a malfunction or issue, ensure you remove the cause of the trip before attempting to reset it. Resetting the inverter without addressing the underlying issue will result in repeated trips.

Error Codes and Solutions

OLr - Dynamic Braking Resistor Overload:

- Causes:
+ Rapid deceleration.
+ High dynamic braking rate.
+ Over-voltage limit operation parameter (F525) set too low.
- Solutions:
+ Extend deceleration time #1 (dEC).
+ Increase the capacity (wattage) of the dynamic braking resistor and reset PBR capacity parameter (F308).
+ Increase the setting value of F525.

  OH - Overheat:

- Causes:
+ Cooling fan not working.
+ High ambient temperature.
+ Blocked cooling fan vent.
+ Nearby heat-generating sources.
+ Disconnected internal thermistor.
- Solutions:
+ Cool down the inverter and try restarting it.
+ Replace the cooling fan if it's not operational.
+ Ensure there is sufficient space around the inverter.
+ Avoid placing heat-generating items near the inverter.
+ Contact a service professional.

 E - Emergency Stop:

- Cause: Inverter stopped via panel during automatic or remote operation.
- Solution: Reset the inverter.

 EEP1 - EEPROM Error:

- Cause: Error during data writing.
- Solution: Turn the inverter off and on. If unresolved, contact service.

 EEP2, EEP3 - Initial Read-Error:

- Cause: Abnormal internal data.
- Solution: Contact service.

Err 2 - Main RAM Fault:

- Cause: Abnormality in control RAM.
- Solution: Contact service.

Err 3 - Main ROM Fault:

- Cause: Abnormality in control ROM.
- Solution: Contact service.

 Err 4 - CPU Fault:

- Cause: Abnormality in control CPU.
- Solution: Contact service.

 Err 5 - Communication Fault:

- Cause: Error during communication.
- Solution: Check communication units and connections.

Err 6 - Gate Array Fault:

- Cause: Abnormal main gate array.
- Solution: Contact service.

Err 7 - Output Current Detector Error:

- Cause: Abnormal main output current detector.
- Solution: Contact service.

Err 8 - Optional Unit Fault:

- Cause: Abnormality in optional unit (e.g., add-on cassettes).
- Solutions:
+ Check connections of optional boards.
+ Refer to instructions for the relevant options.

Err 9 - Flush Memory Fault:

- Cause: Abnormality in flush memory.
- Solution: Contact service.

 UC - Low-Current Operation:

- Cause: Output current dropped below detection level during operation.
- Solutions:
+ Check if low-current detection level (F612) is set correctly.
+ Contact service if settings are correct.

 UP1 - Under-Voltage (Main Circuit):

- Causes:
+ Insufficient input voltage.
+ Momentary power failure exceeding detection time (F628).
- Solutions:
+ Check input voltage.
+ Set F302 (regenerative power control), F301 (auto-restart), and F628 (detection time) as countermeasures.

 UP2 - Under-Voltage (Control Circuit):

- Causes:
+ Insufficient control circuit voltage.
+ Momentary power failure exceeding detection time (F628).
- Solutions:
+ Check input voltage.
+ Set F302, F301, and F628 as countermeasures.

 Ot - Over-Torque:

- Cause: Load torque exceeds detection level.
- Solution: Check for system abnormalities.

 EF1, EF2 - Ground-Fault:

- Cause: Ground-fault in output cable or motor.
- Solution: Inspect units and connections for ground-faults.

 Etn - Auto-Tuning Error:

- Causes:
+ Incorrect motor capacity settings.
+ Incorrect cable size or type.
+ Non-three-phase inductive motor used.
- Solutions:
+ Check motor parameters (F400 to F414).
+ Ensure correct motor type setting (F413 = 4).

 Etyp - Inverter Type Error:

- Cause: Control board or drive board of the main circuit has been replaced.
- Solution: Input FF for Etyp after replacing the board.

  E-10 - Sink/Source Switching Error:

- Cause: Sink/source switch of input/output terminal is set incorrectly.
- Solutions:
+ Check connections and set the proper logic.
+ Ensure sequence is normal before proceeding.
+ If the error doesn't reoccur after restarting, the system is normal.
