Shihlin SE2 User Manuals
Shihlin SE2 is a compact industrial AC drive designed for speed and torque control of AC motors. The series combines sensorless vector control (SVC) with Auto Tuning to simplify motor setup and improve control performance.
Low-speed starting torque: The source specifications state starting-torque values of 150% at 1 Hz and 200% at 3 Hz. This can be useful in applications requiring strong motor torque at low speed. See also VFD torque boost.
Output-frequency range: The SE2 technical information lists an adjustable output-frequency range of approximately 0.2–1000 Hz. Actual allowable motor speed must always be determined from the motor and mechanical-system limits, not from inverter frequency alone. For general information, see frequency.
Motor Auto Tuning: Static motor-parameter identification helps the drive determine important motor characteristics and configure the control system more accurately. Correct Auto Tuning is especially important where stable low-speed torque and improved motor response are required.
Overload and protection: The source information specifies a short-duration overload capability of up to 200% for 1 second. The SE2 also includes protection against conditions such as ground faults and output short circuits. General information is available on our VFD fault and protection page.
RS485 / Modbus communication: The SE2 includes an RS485 communication interface and supports Modbus ASCII, Modbus RTU and Shihlin communication protocols.
Braking, EMC and energy-saving functions: Depending on the model and configuration, the SE2 provides braking-related functions, EMC filtering and energy-saving control. Braking-resistor requirements and connections should always be checked in the manual for the specific SE2 model.
Expansion and communication options: The source information lists optional I/O, RS485 / RS422, 4–20 mA, Profibus and DeviceNet expansion cards. Compatibility should be verified for the exact drive model before selection.
