Shihlin SE2 is a compact industrial AC drive that combines motor-control functions with standard communication and protection features. Standard RS485 communication, automatic restart after power interruption, maintenance monitoring and electronic motor protection make the SE2 suitable for a wide range of machinery applications.

The built-in speed adjustment potentiometer provides simple local frequency control, while external terminals and communication interfaces allow the drive to be integrated into automated systems.

Typical applications: Belt and chain conveyors, feeding systems, escalators, saws, milling and grinding machines, drilling equipment, pumps, fans and automatic door systems.

Power range: The SE2 series includes approximately 0.2–2.2 kW single-phase 200–240 VAC models and 0.4–11 kW three-phase 380–480 VAC models.

Vector Control and High-Torque Performance

In addition to standard machinery, the SE2 can be used in more demanding applications such as cranes and hoists, extruders, centrifuges, winding systems and machines requiring stable motor speed under changing loads.

Encoderless motor control: The SE2 can provide advanced motor control without requiring encoder feedback in many applications. Sensorless vector-control functions allow the drive to estimate motor operating conditions and provide improved speed and torque response.

Speed and torque control: Applications requiring stronger low-speed performance can benefit from the SE2 motor-control functions. Correct motor data, load information and parameter settings are important where accurate torque control is required.

Auto Tuning: The Auto Tuning function can be used to identify important motor parameters and improve drive setup. Depending on the selected tuning method, motor identification may be carried out with the motor stationary or rotating.

RS485 / Modbus communication: The SE2 provides standard Modbus RTU / RS485 communication for connection to PLCs, HMIs and other industrial control systems.

Depending on the drive version and optional hardware, additional industrial-network options may include Profibus, CC-Link and CANopen. Network compatibility should be checked for the specific drive and option card before selection.

Maintenance and restart functions: Operating-time monitoring can assist with preventive maintenance. Automatic restart and rotating-motor recovery functions can also be useful in applications where operation must resume after a short power interruption.
