Potentiometer groups

Hello,
In this section, you can find various potentiometers designed for motor speed control systems. The range includes both digital electronic potentiometers and standard analog carbon alloy potentiometers.
Important: The digital potentiometers below cannot be used as power supplies. Due to their low output current, they are suitable only for AC drive systems.
All analog models between 2.2 kΩ and 10 kΩ, as well as digital models, are compatible with most AC drives. If you’re new to the topic, check our article What is a Potentiometer?
A potentiometer is a variable resistor used to adjust output voltage, current, or signal level in electronic circuits. They are available in two main types: analog and digital.
Analog Potentiometers:
+ Linear: The resistance changes linearly with rotation. Commonly used in volume, tone, or speed controls.
+ Logarithmic: Resistance changes logarithmically (audio taper). Ideal for amplifiers and equalizers to achieve natural sound response.
+ Dual: Two independent resistive tracks controlled by one shaft, used in stereo audio systems.
Digital Potentiometers:
+ Step-Type: Rotary encoders that output digital pulses as the shaft turns. Used in digital audio and control systems.
+ Non-Volatile: Retain their settings even when powered off — useful where stable calibration is needed.
+ Serial: Controlled via SPI or I2C interfaces, commonly used in microcontroller-based systems with limited I/O pins.
Connection Guide:
For analog types, the edge terminals connect to +10V and GND (COM), and the middle terminal connects to AI1 or AIn input. If rotation works in reverse (right decreases, left increases), swap the edge terminals only.
For digital models, connect the GND terminal to the drive’s COM and the signal terminal to 0–10V or 4–20mA input, as required.
A key advantage of digital potentiometers is the ability to calibrate machine speed directly. For example, if your system runs at 36 Hz producing 11 m/min, you can simply set “11” as the target value instead of adjusting by frequency.
Each product page includes detailed commissioning and instructional documents.
All our potentiometers are built for professional machines and feature galvanic isolation for safe operation near high harmonic emitting equipment such as power supplies, frequency drives, and induction motors. Please consider the price/performance ratio when making your selection.
