Mitsubishi Servo Files
Mitsubishi Servo Files: systems, product families and manuals
Mitsubishi Servo Files is the starting point for servo drives, motors, motion controllers, accessories and technical manuals. Use the complete equipment code to find the relevant family, then consult the documentation for the installed system. The introduction to servo systems explains the underlying operating principle.
What does each part of a servo axis do?
The controller generates the motion command; the servo amplifier controls and supplies power to the motor. The motor produces mechanical movement, while encoder feedback reports the measured position to the control system. In position control, the target and measured position are compared. This makes it essential to distinguish the command interface from motor power and feedback connections. Some amplifiers provide internal positioning functions, so the need for an external controller depends on the model.
Identify the command interface from the full model and suffix. Pulse and direction commands, analogue references on supported models and SSCNET communication require the appropriate wiring and controller interface. A pulse signal may carry a command, measurement or monitoring output; a similar signal description does not establish an identical connection.
Record the feedback arrangement separately. For a system using an absolute encoder, check the amplifier, motor, cable and any position retention arrangement together. Encoder resolution or a similar connector does not establish compatibility. Rotary motors, linear motors and direct drive torque motors require the documentation for their respective motor and amplifier configurations.
Checks before selection or replacement
Record the complete amplifier, motor and controller codes, including every suffix. Compare the supply class, command interface, feedback arrangement and manufacturer-approved motor/amplifier combination. A shared series name or matching kW rating does not establish interchangeability. Verify firmware, controller software and parameter requirements in the documentation for the specific equipment.
Keep AC input, DC bus, control supply and motor output separate when comparing electrical specifications. Motor rated power, amplifier current capacity, transient torque demand and braking equipment describe different requirements. This overview provides no universal current, voltage, power or waiting-time value; obtain those figures from the manual for the complete equipment code.
When recording a “Mitsubishi servo fault”, identify the reporting unit, full alarm code and conditions at occurrence. Read the amplifier display alongside the controller axis designation and motor nameplate. Before replacement or adjustment, back up the existing parameters, controller project and connection details. Replacing an amplifier alone does not establish that the fault has been resolved.
Finding the right documentation
Start with the Mitsubishi Servo Files PDF Manuals centre. Check that the document covers the full model and suffix, then verify its document number, language and revision. Hardware connections, parameters, troubleshooting and software procedures may be covered by separate manuals. A page with “PDF” in its title does not by itself confirm that a downloadable file is available or that the file applies to your equipment.
Second-hand equipment: Published manufacturer specifications are separate from the actual condition of an individual unit. This guide establishes no stock availability, test result, repair history, warranty or accessory inclusion. Use the description of the specific item for that information.
