Piston Pumps: These pumps operate on the principle of a piston drawing in and compressing fluid. They're often used for high-pressure applications and come in various designs: like eccentric shaft piston pumps, axial piston pumps, and radial (swashplate) piston pumps.
Applications of hydraulic pumps are diverse and typically found in industrial machinery and mobile equipment, such as construction equipment, agricultural machinery, aircraft systems, and automobiles. For instance, the hydraulic cylinders that move an excavator's arm up and down are actuated by pressurized oil from a hydraulic pump.
