Unidrive SP VFD
About Unidrive SP: The Unidrive SP is a high-performance and flexible AC drive range, covering a power range from 0.37 kW to 1.9 MW. The drives are available in three formats: Panel Mount, Free Standing, and Modular, which provide easy installation, maximum power system design flexibility, and reduced drive size, respectively.
The Unidrive SP Panel Mount drives are standard AC input, AC output modules designed for control panel installation. The Free Standing drives come in a standard-sized cabinet with input power equipment for immediate connection. The Modular Unidrive SP drives offer maximum power system design flexibility, with drive modules that can be connected in various ways to create common DC bus systems, active input systems, and parallel drives for high power motors.
The Unidrive SP provides high-performance motor control for various types of motors, including induction motors, asynchronous servo motors, and synchronous servo motors. The control mode can be easily selected using the drive keypad, with options including Servo, Closed Loop Vector, RFC Mode, Open Loop Vector, Open Loop V/f Control, and Regenerative.
The Unidrive SP includes the hardware required to connect to various feedback encoder types, such as Incremental, SinCos, SSI, EnDat, and HIPERFACE. The drive can also be customized with over 25 different option modules, including Fieldbus, Ethernet, I/O, extra feedback devices, and automation controllers.
The Unidrive SP allows for the embedding of automation and motion control within the drive, eliminating communication delays. It is designed with innovation and reliability in mind and is supported by Control Techniques' global network of Drive Centres and international distributors.
The Unidrive SP features a standard Safe Torque Off (STO) function that complies with EN/IEC 61800-5-2 SIL 3. This makes the drive part of the machine safety system, reducing costs and eliminating the need for power contactors and feedback checking arrangements.
The drive also offers cost-saving features such as integrated EMC filters, through panel mounting, and backup power supply inputs, which reduce cabinet size and eliminate external components. Additionally, the modular drives and panel mount drives can be configured for DC bus and active input systems for energy savings and harmonic reduction.
The Unidrive SP reduces drive size by 60% for motors ranging from 0.37 kW to 1.5 kW, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
The drive is compliant with IP54 and NEMA 12 standards, operates with global power supplies, and meets various safety standards.
