Communication and programming: Depending on the servo-drive model, RS232, RS485, USB or RJ45 interfaces can be used for communication with PCs and automation systems. For interface and conversion solutions, see our communication converters section.
CNC and multi-axis applications: Shihlin servo systems can be used in CNC control, packaging machinery, cutting systems, indexing, feeding and other precision-motion applications. Depending on torque and speed requirements, an appropriate servo gearbox may also be required.
Braked or non-braked servo motors: Braked servo motors are generally preferred for vertical axes and applications where the shaft must remain mechanically held when power is removed. Non-braked motors are suitable where a holding brake is not required.
Servo system selection: Motor power alone should not determine servo selection. Required torque, maximum speed, inertia ratio, motion profile, supply voltage, brake requirement and drive-control method should all be considered together.
