ACS 400 Manuals

The ACS 400 series AC drives are microprocessor-based, pulse width modulated (PWM) adjustable frequency AC drives. Leveraging sophisticated microprocessor control and advanced IGBT power switching technology, these drives offer superb control performance of AC motors across a wide array of applications.
Heatsinkless Series
Drives in the heatsinkless series are designed to be compact to save space. Constructed with a base plate, they require installation on an external sink to dissipate the heat generated. Please refer to the power circuit losses table for more information. These drives are typically employed in machines where space is at a premium or where there's a need for increased flexibility in installations.
Flexible Application Macros
A selection of preset application macros enables quick commissioning. By changing just one variable, all macro-specific parameters are automatically adjusted, and all control terminals are automatically configured. The factory application macro is designed for situations where the drive operates without a control panel, offering a general-purpose I/O configuration. Different macros are available for 50 Hz and 60 Hz power supplies. The ABB Standard (commonly used in Europe) and the 3-wire (predominantly used in the United States) application macros are set up for general-purpose applications and provide two additional preset speeds compared to the factory application macro. The alternate application macro features an I/O configuration tailored to a sequence of DI-control signals used when alternating the direction of the drive. The motor potentiometer application macro offers a cost-effective interface for PLCs that control the drive's speed using only digital signals.
Precise Control of a Wide Range of Processes
Fast and precise speed control ensures that uniform end-product quality can be achieved cost-efficiently. Comp-AC drives are suitable for machinery applications like conveying, packaging, mixing, ventilation, pumping, and similar. The Comp-AC drives bring the benefits of efficient control to virtually every type of industrial process where AC motors are used.
