Before buying, compare the supply voltage, PNP/NPN or relay output and NO/NC switching logic, operating range with a suitable reflector, optics appropriate for the target, cable/connector design and mounting dimensions. For transparent or shiny targets, verify model and reflector suitability against manufacturer data; assess polarization and response time for the application.

Included items and testing: Each description should clearly state whether the sensor comes with a reflector, connection cable and mounting bracket. Lens scratches, reflector damage, cable/connector problems and known faults should be disclosed. Test statements should identify the reflector, test distance and output function checked.
