there are 2-wire proximity sensors with a normally closed (NC) output. The output of an NC 2-wire proximity sensor is normally closed and opens when the sensing target is detected. These sensors are used in applications where the sensor needs to detect the absence of an object, rather than its presence. It's important to note that NC 2-wire sensors require a specific type of load, such as a relay or contactor, to properly operate.
