Commander SK Fault index
Status Modes (Drive Status Indicators):
"rd" display: The drive is ready for operation. The drive is powered on and set up, but waiting for a start command. The output bridge is inactive, meaning no power is being supplied to the motor yet.
"inh" display: The drive is inhibited. Possible reasons include the absence of an enable command, "coast to stop" state, or a trip reset mode. The drive is temporarily blocked from operating.
"tr" display: The drive has tripped, a safety measure when something goes wrong. A specific trip code will indicate the error, requiring troubleshooting to resolve the issue.
"dc" display: Represents DC injection braking, used to stop the motor quickly by injecting DC current, bringing the motor to a halt more rapidly.
"PLC" display: Shows a mains loss condition, indicating a problem with the main power supply. The drive could be stopping or operating in a low-power mode during a temporary power loss.
Speed Indications (Drive Speed Information):
"Fr" display: Provides the drive’s output frequency in Hertz (Hz), indicating motor speed control.
"SP" display: Shows motor speed in revolutions per minute (rpm), a direct measure of motor shaft speed.
"SE" display: Gives machine speed in user-defined units, customizable based on specific application requirements.
Load Indications (Drive Load Information):
"Ld" display: Shows load current as a percentage of the motor's rated load current, helping monitor safe load range or potential overloads.
"A" display: Provides drive output current per phase in Amps, crucial for matching drive and motor efficiency.
The Commander SK Getting Started Guide provides detailed instructions on using the drive’s keypad and display for setting parameters and monitoring operations.
While editing parameters, use the UP and DOWN keys to fine-tune values, allowing precise control over the drive’s performance.
Understanding these displays helps users monitor and operate the drive safely and efficiently.
Alarm Warnings (Table 8-2):
Table 8-2 provides an overview of alarm warnings that might appear during operation. Each alarm signals a specific condition that needs attention to prevent damage or maintain performance.
OUL.d (I x t Overload):
Condition: Alarm triggers when an overload is detected based on the I²t characteristic. Indicates excessive motor current over time.
Solution: Reduce motor current by decreasing load or adjusting drive settings.
hot (Heatsink/IGBT Temperature High):
Condition: Warning appears when heatsink or IGBT modules exceed safe temperatures. Overheating can lead to failure.
Solution: Lower ambient temperature or motor current to reduce thermal load. Improve ventilation if needed.
br.rS (Braking Resistor Overload):
Condition: Alarm activates when braking resistor absorbs excessive energy, risking overheating.
Solution: Refer to the Commander SK Advanced User Guide for proper resistor sizing and usage. Consider reducing braking intensity or upgrading the resistor.
Fan Control:
Default behavior: The fan remains off until the heatsink temperature exceeds 60°C or output current surpasses 75% of rated capacity.
Fan activation: At threshold, fan runs at full speed for at least 10 seconds to prevent overheating.
Further details on fan control can be found in the Commander SK Advanced User Guide.
Drive Voltage Rating and Trip Levels:
Voltage trip and reset levels for different drive ratings are outlined below:
Drive Voltage Rating UV Trip UV Reset Braking Level OV Trip
200V 175V 215V 390V 415V
400V 330V 425V 780V 830V
UV Trip: Voltage below safe level triggers a trip to prevent damage.
UV Reset: Voltage level for safe reset post under-voltage trip.
Braking Level: Minimum DC voltage for braking functionality.
OV Trip: Excessive voltage triggers a trip to prevent damage.
Notes and Recommendations:
Absolute Minimum DC Voltages: Values marked with an asterisk (*) indicate the minimum DC voltages needed for safe operation. Supplying lower voltage can cause malfunctions or damage.
For comprehensive guidance, refer to the Commander SK Advanced User Guide.
