what is Revolution sensors?
Hello friends,
A rotation guard sensor is a smart monitoring device used to detect whether a cycle has occurred or a predefined threshold has been exceeded in a system. These sensors play a key role in ensuring continuity and safety in machinery and production lines by monitoring whether a trigger signal (pulse) is received regularly.
If the pulse signal—usually from a rotating shaft or mechanism—is not received within a specified time, the sensor output switches to passive and an alarm is triggered. In this way, the system can detect faults like mechanical stoppage or belt breakage.

Depending on the application, these sensors may use optical, mechanical, or inductive technologies. The signals can be processed by PLCs, control relays, or monitoring units for reliable automation performance.

Sensor Output: Active
Example Scenario: A motor drives a mechanism via a belt. During normal operation, pulses are sent from the rotating shaft to the rotation guard sensor. If the belt breaks or slips off, the motor keeps spinning but the sensor no longer receives pulses. The sensor then switches to passive mode and an alarm is triggered—allowing quick fault detection in systems like conveyors, fillers, blow molders, or material transport units.
