Error History
The Toshiba G9 ASD's "Trip History" screen records the last 20 errors that have occurred within the system. These records are numbered from 0 to 19 in the order they occurred. Once the trip history log reaches the number 19, the oldest recorded trip is deleted with each new entry (following a first-in, first-out principle). The "Trip #" field can be selected and scrolled through to view the recorded trip information for a specific trip number.
Clearing the Error History
When an error has been corrected, a reset operation is performed to re-enable the ASD for normal operation. The error history can be cleared using the following methods:
Power Cycling: Turning the power off and then on again (trip info may be saved via F602 if desired).
Stop/Reset Button: Pressing the Stop/Reset button twice.
Remote Control: Performing a reset operation remotely through the communication channel.
Activating the RES Terminal: Temporarily activating the RES terminal on the ACE G9-120V-PCB.
Program Menu: Via Program ⇒ Utilities ⇒ Type Reset ⇒ Clear Trip History (this only clears the monitor screen records).
Resetting Procedures
To prevent errors that may arise from an improper setup of the ASD, resetting the ASD to factory settings is recommended. This can be accomplished through Program ⇒ Utilities ⇒ Type Reset ⇒ Reset to Factory Settings.
These procedures are critical to ensuring the proper functioning of the system and to prevent the recurrence of errors. Regularly monitoring the error history and performing appropriate reset operations when necessary helps to maintain effective and efficient operation of the ASD.
Error Codes and Solutions
ASD Overload (OLI):
Causes: Excessive load, high carrier frequency, short acceleration time.
+ Solution: Reduce load, adjust carrier frequency and acceleration parameters.
Autotuning (ATN):
- Cause: Autotune active.
+ Solution: Wait for autotuning to complete.
Brake Failure (BRKF):
- Cause: Excessive encoder pulses detected.
+ Solution: Check and adjust brake settings, inspect encoder connections.
Brake Fault (BrF):
- Cause: Encoder pulses received during torque proving.
+ Solution: Investigate and resolve any issues with the brake or encoder.
Brake Resistor Overload (OLR):
Causes: Short deceleration time, improper DBR setup.
+ Solution: Extend deceleration time, adjust DBR configuration.
Comm1 Error (CM1):
Causes: Internal communications error, device network/profibus failure.
+ Solution: Check programming and connections, reset communication settings.
Comm2 Error (CM2):
- Cause: External communications error.
+ Solution: Check external communication links, such as RS485 connections.
Control Under-Voltage (POFF):
Causes: Low control voltage, defective control board.
+ Solution: Check power supply voltage, replace control board if necessary.
Emergency Lift (LIFT):
- Cause: Loss of encoder feedback signal.
+ Solution: Check encoder connections and settings, switch to open-loop operation if necessary.
External Fault (EFLT):
- Cause: Fault in a multiple ASD system.
+ Solution: Identify and resolve the fault in the system.
Forward Limit Switch (FLS):
- Cause: Crane end-of-travel limit switch activated.
+ Solution: Check crane position and limit switch settings.
Heavy Load (HLD):
- Cause: Output torque requirement exceeds settings.
+ Solution: Check and adjust load and motor settings.
Main Under-Voltage (MOFF):
- Cause: Low utility voltage.
+ Solution: Check utility power supply and consider using voltage stabilizers.
Motor Overload (OLM):
Causes: Excessive load, motor locked, continuous low-speed operation.
+ Solution: Reduce load, check motor and its operation parameters.
Over-Current (OC):
Causes: Excessive ASD output current, motor or mechanical system issues.
+ Solution: Check ASD settings, motor connections, and mechanical components.
Over-Heat (OH):
Causes: Blocked cooling fan, high ambient temperature.
+ Solution: Ensure proper ventilation, check and clear any obstructions.
Over-Torque (OT):
Causes: Load exceeds torque settings, ASD improperly matched.
+ Solution: Adjust torque settings, ensure ASD and motor compatibility.
