Numeric (text) screen

Numeric and text operator panels are HMI devices used to display machine status, production counts and process values such as temperature, pressure or speed. Depending on their supported functions, keypad models allow operators to enter setpoints, navigate between screens and send commands to the control system. They suit machines that require basic monitoring and parameter adjustment.
Check the PLC make/model and communication protocol together. An RS232 or RS485 port alone does not establish compatibility: the panel must support a suitable communication driver for the PLC, and the cable wiring must match. Confirm the supply voltage, line and character capacity, function keys and panel cutout dimensions. Language and character support, alarm display and editable parameters vary by model.
For a replacement, also check editor software and project file compatibility. Matching display sizes do not mean that an existing project can be transferred directly. These panels can operate without an additional touchscreen HMI; consider touchscreen models when graphical displays or a more extensive operator interface are required. Check the product specifications for features such as direct sensor inputs or data logging.
