What is Telemecanique Altivar 61 VFD?
Telemecanique Altivar 61 is a variable speed drive (VSD) designed for controlling the speed of centrifugal pumps and fans in a wide range of applications such as water and wastewater treatment, commercial buildings, mining, marine, irrigation, and turf management. It offers advanced features, functions, and flexibility to reduce installation, start-up, and maintenance time. It has a user-friendly interface, exceptional connectivity, and reliable operation. It can connect to major building automation networks and can be fitted with options such as the Water Solutions multi-pump option card, or the "Controller Inside" option board for advanced functions and custom programming. It has a wide range of horsepower ratings and options, and is designed to reduce energy consumption by adjusting pump speed to meet the exact demand. It also offers advanced protection features such as thermal protection, integrated electronic thermal relay, and surge limitation. It is also available in a Type 12 enclosure for applications in dusty environments.
It offers advanced features, functions, and flexibility to reduce installation, start-up, and maintenance time. The drive has an intuitive and customizable graphic keypad which makes setup and configuration extremely quick and easy. It also provides connectivity to major building automation networks including Lonworks, BACnet, Metasys N2, and Apogee P1, as well as other industrial networks. Additionally, the Altivar 61 drive can be fitted with the Water Solutions multi-pump option card to expand connectivity to manage multiple pump installations or fitted with the “Controller Inside” option board, which allows custom programming via the IEC 1131 programming methods.
The drive has a wide range of horsepower ratings and options, including 200-240 V: 1-30 HP, single-phase; 200-240 V: 1-125 HP, three-phase; 380-480 V: 1-900 HP, three-phase and 500-690 V: 3-800 HP, three-phase and can reduce energy consumption by adjusting pump speed to meet the exact demand, as well as reducing inrush current. It offers advanced protection, thermal protection, integrated electronic thermal relay, and surge limitation. The drive is also available in a Type 12 enclosure (optional) for applications in dusty environments.

The drive also includes features such as PID control, pump cavitation detection and response, high/low pressure detection, pressure sensor input with range configuration and scaling, temperature sensor input with range configuration and scaling, flow sensor input with range configuration and scaling, pump impeller anti-jam function, pipe-fill function, frost-protection function, sleep modes, night/day operating mode, management of relative operating time, timed pump sequences, display of individual pump run time, and selectable fault responses.
