Ptc sensors

Hi everyone,
PTC sensors can be divided into 2 groups:
1) circuit openers used for switching or triggering, and
2) semiconductor alloy-based sensors that change resistance proportionally to measure temperature.
Switching PTC thermistor: This PTC thermistor form is used in heaters, sensors, and special versions are also used as resettable fuses. The switching type has a highly nonlinear curve. At first, the resistance decreases slightly with increasing temperature, and then at a critical temperature, the resistance increases significantly, thus serving as a switch. This is ideal for protection devices such as motors, fixed temperature heating tanks, and other machines.
Silistor PTC thermistor: It uses a semiconductor as its basic material and is characterized by a linear property. As a result, it is used in temperature sensors. Silistor PTC thermistor is generally made of doped silicon, and the output curve characterizes precise features.
Sensor mode: In this mode, a minimal amount of current flows through the device, and the PTC thermistor detects the ambient temperature. Keeping the current minimal ensures that the self-heating effect is negligible and only the ambient temperature affects the device. As the ambient device heats up, it can reach its critical temperature, where its resistance increases significantly.
+ Silicon PTC thermistors are made of monocrystalline silicon material and are used for temperature and temperature measurement and control. They are PTC thermistors that use the thermal property of silicon PTC, which increases resistance as temperature linearity increases.
Silicon PTC thermistors' resistance increases as temperature linearity increases, showing almost linear positive temperature coefficients over all temperature ranges and providing highly precise measurements. When more linearity is needed, a linearizing resistor can be easily added. The building material is mainly a monocrystalline silicon semiconductor and is sometimes called a silistor.
Since the temperature coefficient is positive, silicon temperature sensors show malfunction-protected operation when a system overheats. Additionally, silicon is naturally stable, so a silicon temperature sensor is highly reliable and has a long working life.
Silicon PTC thermistors for temperature sensors are small in size, can be used for sealing, band packaging, and are suitable for industrial devices.
