Gearboxes for 1.5 kW servo motors reduce speed and increase output torque in axes driven by 1500 W servo systems. Motor power alone does not establish compatibility.

Gear ratio, continuous and peak output torque, allowable input speed, torsional backlash (arcmin), duty cycle and radial/axial load limits should be compared. Also assess how the selected ratio affects the relationship between motor and load inertia.

Shaft diameter and length, pilot diameter, flange bolt pattern and adapter dimensions must match the motor drawing. Motors with the same power rating can have different mounting dimensions. Use the manufacturer’s stated backlash value rather than assuming zero backlash. See the gearbox selection guide for further checks.
