IC693MDL742
The IC693MDL742 module is a 12/24 Volt DC Positive Logic output module with 1 Amp Electronic Short Circuit Protection (ESCP). It has 16 output points, split into two groups of 8. Each group has its own common power output terminal. This module uses positive logic, meaning it sends current to your loads from the positive power bus. So, you'll connect your load between the module output and the negative power bus.
It's compatible with a variety of devices like motor starters, solenoids, and indicators, but you’ll need to provide the power for the field devices yourself. On the module's top, there are LEDs that show you the ON/OFF status of each output. The top row (A1-A8) indicates points 1 to 8, and the bottom row (B1-B8) covers points 9 to 16. There’s also a red LED in the middle (labeled "F") that lights up if there’s a short circuit.
If a short circuit happens, the entire group shuts off, and the red LED comes on. But the output status LEDs (the green ones) will stay on. The short circuit protection doesn’t protect individual outputs, but it’ll prevent the board from frying if there’s a short-circuited load. To reset it, just remove the 12/24 VDC supply to the module.
This module has two short circuit protection circuits: one for A1-A8 and one for B1-B8. You can mount it in any I/O slot of a Series 90-30 PLC system, no fuses needed.
Some key specs:
Voltage: 12/24 V DC
Output Voltage Range: 12 to 24 V DC (+20%, -15%)
16 outputs (two groups of 8)
Isolation: 1500 V between field side and logic side
Max output current: 1 A per point, 4 A per group at 50°C, 3 A per group at 60°C
Inrush current: 5.2 A for 10 ms
Voltage drop: Max 1.2 V
Off-state leakage: Max 1 mA
Response time: 2 ms (on and off)
Power consumption: 130 mA from the 5 V bus when all outputs are on
When wiring, make sure to connect your load devices and power source properly as shown in the wiring diagrams. This module is designed for DC loads, and it offers short circuit protection for each group of outputs.
In short: This is a solid, safe module for managing DC loads. If something goes wrong and there's a short, the module protects itself, and the red LED will tell you. Just reset the power, and you’re good to go!
