The IC693CBL320 is a special 3 feet (1 meter) APM I/O cable that connects one of the 24-pin connectors on the module to the terminal block. This cable is similar to the IC693CBL319 except that its drain shield wire is brought outside of the connector. Each APM module requires two of these cables. It is used with the IC693APU301 and IC693APU302 APM modules.

Function of the Cable:

The I/O Interface Cable assembly includes a 24-pin I/O connector, a cable, and a 25-pin D-type terminal block connector. These cables are used to connect the Power Mate APM Modules (IC693APU301 and IC693APU302) to drives and machines. There are two male 24-pin connectors on the front of each Power Mate APM module, and two I/O interface cables are required to connect the module to the drive and machine.

    IC693CBL311 is 10 feet (3 meters) in length.
    IC693CBL319 is 3 feet (1 meter) in length.

The IC693CBL320, similar to the IC693CBL311 and IC693CBL319 cables, is designed with the drain shield wire disconnected from pin B12 and brought outside the cable housing via an 8-inch pigtail to improve the Power Mate APM's noise immunity. The cable wire code list is provided in Table 10-5.

To simplify wiring, each module connector is typically connected by a short I/O Interface cable to a terminal block. The cable length can be shortened as needed to fit the installation requirements. Refer to manual GFK-0840 (standard mode) or GFK-0781 (follower mode) for details on APM terminal blocks.

Wiring Information:

You will need to purchase mating female 24-pin connectors that connect to the I/O connector on the APM’s faceplate. The connector is available under catalog number IC693ACC317 and includes a solder eyelet receptacle as part of an accessory kit. Other types of 24-pin connectors (crimp pin, ribbon cable) are also available.

The wire for these cables is 12 twisted pairs, #24 AWG (0.22mm²).

The solder eyelet connectors do not require any special tooling. However, crimped contact and ribbon cable connectors require additional tools from Fujitsu for proper assembly.
