IC693CBL305
The IC693CBL305 is a Wye cable used to split two serial port connections from a single connector on certain GE Fanuc modules. This cable is designed for use with the following modules:
IC693PCM301
IC693PCM311
IC693CMM311
IC693ADC311
AD693CMM301
IC693SLP300
Function of the Cable:
The IC693CBL305 splits the single connector on the front of the PCM (Programmable Coprocessor Module) or ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) modules into two separate connections: Port 1 and Port 2. One of these cables is supplied with each PCM module. This Wye cable breaks out the two serial port connections from the single connector into two individual connectors, allowing the use of both serial ports on the module.
This cable is essential for applications where both serial ports are needed. The Wye-type design allows the single module connector to be split into two connections, enabling separate communication for each port.
Important Caution:
The IC693CBL305 should not be used with an SCM (Serial Communications Module) or SLP (Single Loop Processor) that is connected to a multidrop network, as it introduces signal reflections, which can disrupt network performance.
In multidrop networks, the network should be cabled directly to the SCM serial connector, without using the Wye cable.
Usage and Applications:
The IC693CBL305 is used in applications that require the use of both serial ports on the module. It provides an easy way to separate Port 1 and Port 2 into individual connectors.
If only one serial port is used, this cable is not required.
It is important to avoid using this cable in multidrop network setups to prevent signal interference.
This cable is a practical solution for systems that require dual serial port connections, ensuring reliable communication and separation of data traffic between ports.
