Delta VFD-S Fault Codes 2
Hi everyone,
Daily Inspection
Ensure motors are operating as expected.
Check for abnormal installation environment.
Verify cooling system is operating correctly.
Listen for irregular vibrations or sounds during operation.
Check if motors are overheating.
Measure input voltage with a voltmeter.
Periodic Inspection
Turn off AC input power and remove the cover before inspection.
Wait at least 10 minutes after display lamps go out to ensure capacitors are fully discharged.
Periodical Maintenance
Ambient Environment:
+ Inspect ambient temperature, humidity, vibration, and presence of dust, gas, oil, or water drops.
Voltage:
+ Check if the voltage of the main and control circuits is correct.
Keypad:
+ Ensure the display is clear and characters are not missing.
Mechanical Parts:
+ Inspect for abnormal sounds or vibrations.
+ Tighten loose screws.
+ Check for deformity or damage.
+ Inspect for color changes due to overheating.
+ Clean dust and dirt.
Main Circuit:
+ Inspect for loose or missing screws.
+ Check for deformity, cracks, damage, or color changes due to overheating or aging.
+ Clean dust and dirt.
Terminals and Wiring:
+ Inspect for color changes or deformation due to overheating.
+ Check for damage to insulation or wiring.
DC Capacity:
+ Check for leakage of liquid, color changes, cracks, or deformation.
+ Measure static capacity when required.
Resistor:
+ Inspect for peculiar smells or insulator cracks due to overheating.
+ Measure with a multimeter after removing wiring between +1/+2 and -.
Transformer and Reactor:
+ Inspect for abnormal vibrations or smells.
Magnetic Contactor and Relay:
+ Tighten loose screws.
+ Ensure contacts work correctly.
Printed Circuit Board and Connector:
+ Tighten loose screws and press connectors firmly in place.
+ Inspect for peculiar smells, color changes, cracks, damage, deformation, or corrosion.
+ Check for leakage or deformation in capacitors.
Cooling Fan:
+ Inspect for abnormal sounds or vibrations.
+ Tighten loose screws.
+ Replace the fan if there is color change due to overheating.
Ventilation Channel:
+ Ensure no obstructions in the heat sink, air intake, or air outlet
Delta VFD-S Fault Codes and Solutions
Ground Fault (GF)
Description: Ground fault detected at the output terminal.
+ Solutions:
+ Check if the IGBT power module is damaged.
+ Check for poor insulation at the output line.
Communication Error
Description: Error in RS485 communication.
+ Solutions:
+ Check the RS485 connection between the AC motor drive and RS485 master for loose wires and correct pin wiring.
+ Ensure communication protocol, address, transmission speed, etc., are properly set.
+ Use correct checksum calculation.
+ Refer to group 9 in chapter 5 for detailed information.
External Base Block (B.B)
Description: When the external input terminal (B.B) is active, the AC motor drive output will be turned off.
+ Solutions:
+ Deactivate the external input terminal (B.B) to operate the AC motor drive again.
Internal EEPROM Error Cf1-CF2
Description: Internal EEPROM cannot be programmed or read.
+ Solutions:
+ Return to the factory.
Auto Acceleration/Deceleration Failure cfA
Description: Failure during auto acceleration/deceleration.
+ Solutions:
+ Check if the motor is suitable for operation by AC motor drive.
+ Ensure regenerative energy is not too large.
+ Check if the load has changed suddenly.
This detailed analysis includes fault codes and solutions as well as maintenance and inspection guidelines for the Delta VFD-S series. Following these guidelines will help maintain the VFD's optimal performance and extend its lifespan.
