Delta VFD-M Fault Codes 2

Hi verybody,

Delta VFD-M Fault Codes and Solutions

Motor Cannot Run
- Solutions:
+ Check the keypad for normal display.
+ Ensure non-fuse breakers and magnetic contactors are ON.
+ Check for any fault codes displayed.
+ Input the RUN command via the keypad.

Motor Speed Cannot be Changed
- Solutions:
+ Check if the maximum frequency setting is too low.
+ Ensure the frequency setting is within the specified range.
+ Verify correct wiring between M0~M5 to GND.

Motor Stalls during Acceleration

- Solutions:
+ Check if the acceleration time is too short.
+ Verify if the inertia of the motor and load is too high.
+ Check for low input voltage.
+ Ensure the load torque is not too high.

Motor Does Not Run as Expected
- Solutions:
+ Check the settings of Pr. 04 to Pr. 09 and torque compensation.
+ Ensure the output voltage of U, V, W is balanced.
+ Reduce the load or increase the power of the AC motor drive.

Electromagnetic/Induction Noise
- Solutions:
+ Add surge suppressors to  relays and contacts.
+ Shorten the control circuit or serial communication wiring and separate them from power circuit wiring.
+ Ground the terminal independently according to local regulations.
+ Use a noise filter at the mains input terminal of the AC motor drive.

Environmental conditions affecting the AC motor drive.
- Solutions:
+ Use anti-vibration dampers to prevent vibration.
+ Store the AC motor drive in a clean and dry location.
+ Ensure the ambient temperature is within the specified range.

Over Heat (OH)

    OH1:
- Description: The AC motor drive or heat sink is overheating.
- Solutions:
+ Check if the temperature of the heat sink is greater than 90°C.
+ Ensure the cooling fan is functioning normally.
+ Adjust the surrounding temperature to specification.

Overload (OL)

    OL1/OL2:
- Description: The motor is overloaded.
- Solutions:
+ Reduce the load or increase the power of the AC motor drive.
+ Check and modify the settings of Pr. 58 and Pr. 59.

Keypad Display Abnormal

Description: Abnormal display or no display on the keypad.
- Solutions:
+ Cycle power to the AC motor drive.
+ Ensure all connectors are properly connected and there is no noise.
+ Contact Delta if the AC motor drive malfunctions.

Phase Loss (PHL)

    PHL:
- Description: Phase loss at terminals R, S, T.
- Solutions:
+ Check wiring at the terminals and tighten any loose screws.
+ Ensure the input voltage is balanced.

Additional Fault Codes
CF1, CF2, CE1, and Others

CF1: Internal memory IC cannot be programmed.
- Solutions:
+ Switch off the power supply and switch it back on.
+ Check if the input voltage is within the rated AC drive input voltage.

CF2: Internal memory IC cannot be read.
- Solutions:
+ Check the connections between the main control board and the power board.
+ Reset the drive to factory defaults.

    CE1: Communication error.
- Solutions:
+ Check the connection between the AC motor drive and computer.
+ Ensure the communication protocol is properly set.

    EF: External base block.
- Solutions:
+ When the external input terminal is active, the AC motor drive output will be turned off.
+ Disable this connection to resume normal operation.

    GFF: Ground fault.
- Solutions:
+ Check if the IGBT power module is damaged.
+ Ensure proper insulation at the output line.

This detailed analysis includes all the fault codes and their corresponding solutions as provided in the Delta VFD-M manual. Implementing these solutions will help in resolving the issues effectively.
