For pulse-output models, match the supply voltage, A/B output signals, signal levels and pulses per revolution to the controller’s MPG input. A physically matching connector does not guarantee electrical compatibility; compare pin assignments in the product documentation.

Consider axis selection, increment multipliers, cable length and mounting dimensions. The travel distance per wheel detent also depends on the controller’s scaling and multiplier settings. For USB or wireless models, verify supported software, required plugins and receiver compatibility. Handwheels are not universally compatible with every CNC system.
