Gemo DZ482 is a compact digital timer relay with two-button adjustment and a separate START input. Unlike the DZ900, DZ721 and DZ481, timing on the DZ482 is started by an external input rather than simply by applying power. OtomasyonAVM has been supplying Gemo products since 2013.

Supply voltage: 100–240 VAC, 50–60 Hz.
A 24 V version is available when specified at the time of order.
START input: Digital input, terminals 11 and 12.
Output: Relay output as standard. If an SSR output is required, this should be specified when ordering.

The separate START input is the main reason to choose the DZ482 over the other timers in this series. It is useful when the timing cycle needs to be triggered by a machine signal, sensor circuit, PLC output or another control contact.

Setting the time

The display alternates between SEt and the programmed time value. When Flasher mode is selected, St.A is displayed first, followed by St.B.

Use the Up and Down arrow keys to change the SET value. Once the required value is shown, leave the keys untouched for about two seconds. The new setting is stored automatically and the timer returns to its normal display.

When a START signal is applied, the timer begins counting down from the stored SET value. The output changes state when the programmed time has elapsed.

out = dLY selects ON Delay operation. Only one SET value is used in this mode.
out = FLS selects Flasher operation. In this mode, St.A and St.B are set separately.

To enter the operating-mode and time-range settings, hold the Up and Down arrow keys while switching the unit on. Release both keys as soon as the LED display lights.

The selected time range and time unit are shown alternately on the display. Use the arrow keys to choose the required range, then leave the keys untouched for about five seconds. The selection is stored automatically.

When replacing an existing timer, check more than the 48 × 48 mm front size. The DZ482 uses a separate START input, so the wiring and operating sequence should also match the original application.
