ABB ACS150 Drives: Flexible and User-Friendly Solutions

The ABB ACS150 drives come equipped with an integrated user panel and potentiometer, offering a variety of features such as predefined I/O configurations including 3-wire, PID control, and motor potentiometer macros. These drives offer a wide range of parameters that help you achieve the best performance from your application.

Additionally, an optional drive configuration tool designed for mass production setup, named FlashDrop, can be utilized to configure unpowered drives quickly and easily. FlashDrop can store up to 20 different drive parameter sets, allowing for parameters to be copied from one drive to another, or between a PC and a drive.

Key features include:

  • Global availability through logistical distributors
  • User-friendly LCD panel and integrated potentiometer
  • Flexible mounting options
  • PID control and integrated EMC filter
  • Built-in brake chopper
  • FlashDrop tool for rapid drive commissioning

The voltage and power range include:

  • Single-phase 200 - 240 V ±10% from 0.37 to 2.2 kW (0.5 to 3 hp)
  • Three-phase 200 - 240 V ±10% from 0.37 to 2.2 kW (0.5 to 3 hp)
  • Three-phase 380 - 480 V ±10% from 0.37 to 4 kW (0.5 to 5 hp)

Options available include:

  • FlashDrop tool
  • Input/output chokes
  • C2 EMC filters
  • NEMA 1 enclosure kit

Applications cover conveyors, mixers, material handling, and fans and pumps.

For mains connection, the power range covers:

  • Single and three-phase 200 - 240 V ±10% from 0.37 to 2.2 kW (0.5 to 3 hp)
  • Three-phase 380 - 480 V ±10% from 0.37 to 4 kW (0.5 to 5 hp)

Supporting a frequency of 48 to 63 Hz, the motor connection specifications include:

  • Three-phase voltage from 0 to Usupply
  • Frequency from 0 to 500 Hz
  • Overload capability of 1.5 x I2N for heavy-duty use every 10 minutes
  • A start of 1.8 x I2N for 2 seconds

The standard switching frequency is 4 kHz, adjustable up to 16 kHz in 4 kHz steps with derating, and includes a noise cancellation function. Acceleration and deceleration times range from 0.1 to 1800 seconds, with a built-in brake chopper as standard.

Auxiliary voltage is provided at 24 V DC ±10%, max. 200 mA, using a scalar U/f motor control method. The drives are compliant with UL, cUL, CE, C-Tick, and GOST R approvals and are RoHS compliant.

Environmental limits include:

  • IP20 degree of protection
  • Ambient temperatures from -10 to 40 ºC (14 to 104 ºF) with no frost allowed
  • Up to 50 ºC (122 ºF) with 10% derating
  • Relative humidity lower than 95% without condensation
  • Optional NEMA 1 enclosure kit to increase protection

In simpler terms, the ACS150 drives are incredibly user-friendly. Thanks to their integrated user panel and potentiometer, you can easily adjust the drive to your desired settings. The predefined macros and PID control simplify even complex operations, allowing you to tailor the drive precisely to your needs.

The drives also offer flexible mounting options to suit the specifics of your space. Features like the integrated EMC filter and built-in brake chopper protect against electromagnetic interference and facilitate high braking demands without additional equipment.

The FlashDrop tool is a lifesaver for quickly aligning multiple drives to the same settings. It allows for easy parameter copying between drives or from a PC to a drive.

Moreover, the drives' broad voltage and power range cater to various power needs and electrical grid conditions. Designed for heavy-duty use, their overload capacities ensure durability under tough conditions.

Lastly, these drives are manufactured to international standards, meaning they can be used confidently almost anywhere in the world. The IP20 protection class ensures resilience to environmental conditions, which can be further enhanced with an optional NEMA 1 enclosure kit.

In short, ACS150 drives offer a flexible, user-friendly, and reliable option suitable for a wide range of applications from conveyors and mixers to material handling, and from fans to pumps.
