IC693MAR590

The IC693MAR590 120 Volt AC Input/Relay Output Module

This module combines both 8 inputs and 8 relay outputs in a single package. The input side works with 120V AC and provides 8 input points, all sharing a common power input terminal. The inputs are arranged in one group of eight. The output side consists of 8 normally-open (N.O.) relay circuits, arranged into two groups of four, with each group having its own common power terminal. The output relays can handle up to 2 amps per output, so you can use them to control things like motor starters, solenoids, and indicators.

Key Details:

Inputs: These are designed for AC devices such as pushbuttons, limit switches, or proximity sensors. When an input receives current, it registers as a logic 1 in the input status table. Important: You need to provide your own AC power source for the inputs.
Outputs: The outputs are relay-based, and they control various devices provided by the user. The relays can switch both AC and DC loads. Power for the internal relays comes from the +24V DC bus on the backplane. Again, the AC or DC power to run the external devices must be supplied by you.
No fuses are included in this module.

LED Indicators:

The ON/OFF status of each input and output is shown by LEDs located at the top of the module. The top row (A1 to A8) corresponds to input points 1 through 8, while the bottom row (B1 to B8) shows the status of the 8 relay outputs.

Installation:

The module is color-coded red on the left edge of the insert, indicating that it’s a high-voltage module. You can install it in any I/O slot of a 5-slot or 10-slot baseplate in a Series 90-30 PLC system.

Key Specs:

Inputs:

    Rated Voltage: 120V AC
Operating Voltage Range: 0 to 132V AC
    Inputs per Module: 8
    On-State Voltage: 74 to 132V AC
    Off-State Voltage: 0 to 20V AC
    On-State Current: Minimum 6 mA
    Off-State Current: Maximum 2.2 mA
On/Off Response Time: 30 ms on, 45 ms off

Outputs:

Rated Voltage: 24V DC, 120/240V AC
Operating Voltage Range: 5 to 30V DC or 5 to 250V AC (50/60 Hz)
Outputs per Module: 8 (two groups of four)
Max Load per Output: 2 amps, 4 amps per group
    Max Inrush Current: 5 amps
    On/Off Response Time: 15 ms

Power Consumption:

80 mA from the 5V bus on the backplane (all inputs/outputs on)
70 mA from the 24V relay bus on the backplane (all outputs on)

Output Life:

At 240V AC, 120V AC, or 24V DC, the output contacts have a typical life of:
200,000 operations at 2 amps (resistive loads)
        400,000 operations at 1 amp
        800,000 operations at 0.5 amps

For inductive loads, the relay contact life improves when suppression circuits are used.

In short, this module is perfect for applications where you need to monitor 120V AC inputs while also controlling AC or DC loads through the relay outputs. The LEDs make it easy to track the status of each input and output, and the module is designed for long-lasting performance with a variety of load types.
