Consider the gear ratio, continuous and peak output torque, permissible input speed and duty cycle together. For positioning, compare torsional backlash in arcminutes and torsional stiffness; use the manufacturer's specified backlash rather than assuming zero play.

For mounting compatibility, match the motor's shaft diameter and length, pilot diameter, flange dimensions and bolt pattern to the gearbox input adapter.
