Used high-speed counter modules (HSCs) are an option for counting and position monitoring applications using pulses from encoders and sensors. Select equipment by the PLC CPU series and the module's complete model code.

Before buying, compare rack/expansion system compatibility, hardware/firmware versions, input voltage and signal type, channel count and the maximum input frequency for the selected counting mode. Check support for single-pulse, pulse/direction or A/B quadrature counting, plus reference, reset, capture and compare outputs where required. Assess the frequency rating together with the counting mode and number of active channels.

Condition and testing: Each description should disclose faulty channels, terminal damage, corrosion and known issues. Test statements should identify the signal type, test frequency, counting mode and channels checked. Confirm whether removable terminal blocks/connectors, front connection components and any shield connection accessories are included.
