IC693ALG222 Analog Voltage Input Module (16 Channels)

Overview:
This module allows you to connect up to 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog voltage inputs, converting them into digital values that your PLC can use. It has two input voltage ranges:

    0 to 10 V (unipolar)
    –10 to +10 V (bipolar)

Voltage Ranges and Input Modes:
The default mode is single-ended and unipolar, meaning that 0 volts gives you a value of 0, and 10 volts gives you 32000. If you need, you can switch to bipolar mode through the configuration settings, where –10 volts equals –32000, 0 volts equals 0, and +10 volts equals 32000.

Alarm Limits:
High and low alarm limits are available across all ranges, allowing the system to alert you to any voltage issues. You can set these limits on a per-channel basis, giving you flexibility depending on your needs.

Power Requirements and LED Indicators:
This module draws about 112 mA from the PLC’s 5V power bus, plus another 41 mA from the isolated 24V power supply for the analog side. There are two green LEDs on the module:

    MODULE OK: Lights up when everything’s working fine.
    Power Supply OK: Indicates if the internal 5V supply is good.

Placement in System:
You can install this module in any I/O slot of a 5 or 10-slot baseplate in a Series 90-30 PLC.

Performance Specs:

    Resolution: You get a precision of 2.5 mV for the 0 to 10V range and 5 mV for the –10 to +10V range.
    Update Rate: All 16 channels are updated every 6 ms in single-ended mode, or every 3 ms in differential mode.
    Accuracy: Typically within ±0.25% of full scale at 25°C, meaning it’s great for precise measurements.
    Isolation: It isolates the field and logic sides with 1500V of protection, which is critical for preventing electrical noise or spikes from affecting your PLC.

Depending on your CPU model, your system can handle multiple modules. For example, a Model 351 PLC can manage up to 51 of these modules, while a Model 311 can only handle 4.
