Match the sensor input and output hardware

A thermocouple and a Pt100 require different input and wiring arrangements. Verify the supported sensor type, measurement range, wiring diagram and supply voltage in the documentation for the specific model. For applications using analogue signals, 0–10 V or 4–20 mA support may not be available on every instrument.

A relay output, SSR drive output and analogue output are not directly interchangeable. An SSR drive output is not a power output that supplies a heater directly. Check the alarm outputs, panel cut-out, terminal layout and hardware options identified by the model code. In a system using PID control, do not assume that settings from the old instrument suit a different controller; control settings must be assessed for the application.

Test information and item condition

Review the listing's test coverage, photographs and disclosed defects or missing parts. A working display does not establish that the sensor input, control outputs and alarms have all been tested. A functional test does not replace a calibration certificate. Faulty equipment may be offered with its faults clearly stated; do not assume that tests or accessories not mentioned in the listing are included.
