Here are some factors that affect Wi-Fi energy consumption:

    Type of Device: Different devices consume different amounts of energy. For example, a laptop usually consumes more energy than a mobile phone.

    Device Active Time: The length of time a device sends and receives data over Wi-Fi greatly affects energy consumption. A device that is constantly sending and receiving data over Wi-Fi consumes more energy than a device that sends and receives data less frequently.

    Wi-Fi Signal Strength: The strength of the Wi-Fi signal also affects energy consumption. A stronger signal generally consumes more energy.

    Data Transfer Speed: Higher data transfer speeds usually consume more energy. This means that devices using a high-speed Wi-Fi standard typically consume more energy than devices using a slower standard.

There are several ways to reduce Wi-Fi energy consumption. These include completely turning off devices or putting them into sleep mode when not using Wi-Fi, reducing Wi-Fi signal strength as necessary, and using more energy-efficient Wi-Fi standards (such as Wi-Fi 6).
